All the South African surfers with disabilities will once again surf it out in Durban on 12-13 April 2025 for a spot on the national team that will represent South Africa in California USA later this year. The petition that was signed by the South African parasurfers in 2024 to host the 2025 national championship in Paternoster was instead granted for 2026 by the national surfing governing body, SSA.

For 2025 our team will have to travel to Durban for the National Championship and for the first time experience the warm ocean water.

Starting in Saldanha on 5 April to return again on 22 April. Our Weskus Krewe parasurf team is preparing for the long journey from the West Coast to the East Coast, from the cold Atlantic Ocean to the warm Indian Ocean. The team have been training hard for this event and is keen to travel the country past Muizenberg for the first time. The tour duration will be two weeks and the team will be making stops at various surf spots along the way. Have a look at our tour itinerary to see if the Weskus Krewe will be surfing near you. We will be staying over at the following towns on route and back: Mosselbay, East-London, Kokstad, Durban and Port Alfred. The team predominantly consists of beneficiaries from the South African Social Security Agency and we completely rely on fund raising for our surf missions. All of our members with disabilities have no other income from SASSA. We have all the necessary surf gear and a few of the team members have surf sponsors for wetsuits, surfboards and apparel, we have that covered, but for the tour itself we need help. The cost for this two week surf trip for a team of 10 people is approximately R100 000.00 in monetary value at R10k per person. We would greatly appreciate help in the form of fuel in the tank, meals, accommodation and laundry.

Extreme Abilities is therefor a registered article 18 non profit organization and we can write tax reclaim certificates for businesses that makes financial donations towards our tour.

Surfing Movie Documentary

As part of the surfing development plan we incorporate drone footage as a learning tool, we make journal style surf movies for our surfers as progression reference and as an online platform to showcase their surf skills. For this tour we are planning a Weskus Krewe Surf movie and video series.
